Extraordinary Smith & Wesson factory prototype Model 63 Kit Gun .22 LR. Made in 1974 with rock-solid provenance provided by a brace of factory letters signed by Roy Jinks, serial M36517 is one of the original 12 prototypes. Features unique to these prototypes include a round butt grip frame, narrow rib, no front sight insert, silver (rather than black) adjustable rear sight and checkered walnut grips with medallions. No model number is marked on the frame. Other features include stainless steel construction, four-inch pinned barrel and a recessed cylinder. CONDITION: The bore and cylinder walls are strong and bright. Mechanics are solid. Metal finish crowds 95 percent. Grips are solid. INCLUSIONS: The Jinks letters, original box, tools (sealed), manual, warranty card, service center listing, ammo flyer and wax paper are present. The box is in fair condition.
