Welcome
Welcome to the expanded edition of William G. Tapply’s Sportsman’s Legacy: A rich memoir of a man’s life with his great sportsman father, his beloved family, and his adored Brittany.
Bill first published Sportsman’s Legacy in 1993. Since that time, sadly, both he and his dad, H.G. “Tap” Tapply have passed away. Over those 17 years, Bill wrote numerous outdoor articles, novels and produced three collaborative novels with Philip R. Craig.
The original Sportsman’s Legacy told of an amazing father-son bond forged in the outdoors.
Of course, that father, Tap Tapply, was a giant among sporting writers and editors and Bill Tapply became revered in his own right as the author of more than 30 mystery novels, a dozen outdoor books, and hundreds of articles.
Yet the tale is a universal one. It speaks not just to fathers and sons, but to anyone who appreciates the bonds of family and friendship, both human and animal.
The new edition expands on the original themes of cherishing nature’s fragile mysteries, of loving her wild creatures, and of how a father and son’s meaningful connection can spark a deep and profound love of family and friends.
We hope you enjoy this new edition.
