Smith & Wesson K-22 Outdoorsman. A very early example made circa 1932, serial 638887 (4X: barrel, frame, cylinder, right grip panel) has a 6-inch barrel (tapering to .535-inch muzzle diameter, brass bead inlaid in front sight blade). Features include an adjustable rear sight, color case hammer (patent marking, checkered spur), color case trigger (serrated face), serrated front strap and backstrap (six serrations each) and checkered diamond grips. No box or papers. CONDITION: The bore is outstanding in every respect. Chamber walls are smooth and bright. Trigger pulls are very smooth. The cylinder opens smoothly, rotates without stutter and locks tightly. Metal finish is at least 98 percent with trace thinning on muzzle sides and a modest turning ring. Cylinder face exhibits little evidence of firing. All markings are tack sharp. Grips are approximately 98 percent. The price is firm and layaway is available. $2,300 plus shipping.
