ACTION: Based on the classic “gate-type” action, features include an automatic safety, hand-detachable locks with gold-plated lockworks and cocking indicators, single gold-plated trigger, rolled guard and color case). STOCK: Drawn from heavily-figured walnut, appointments include wrap checkering with partial Mullered borders, drop points, “straight hand” butt and a leather-covered recoil pad. ENGRAVING: The action, lever, tangs, guard and latch wear Purdey’s Large Scroll pattern to full coverage. “Safe” is highlighted in gold. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.2 inches, drops are 1.4 and 2.25 inches, and cast off is approximately .30-inch. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright, barrels full on face and the lever rests well right. Mechanics operate with enthusiasm. Barrel finish exceeds 90 percent with a few minor instances of thinning and rubbing on the rib. Colors are at least 50 percent with some minor flecking of surface laquer. Blue over the guard and tang is approximately 70 percent. Wood is approximately 85 percent with some scattered rubbing and minor impressions. Pad finish is approximately 60 percent and the pad itself retains flexability. INCLUSIONS: The history letter and ledger scan are present. No case or accessories.
