Outstanding pair of custom Winchester pre-64 Model 70 rifles in .270 Winchester and .30-06 by Jim Dubell. Acquired from the original bespoke owner, serials 82957 (.270) and 427967 (.30-06) each have 24-inch factory barrels (.675-inch muzzle diameters, banded sling swivel studs, recontoured, filled/blended sight attachment points). Features include rust blue finishes, jeweled bolt bodies, hollow bolt knobs, checkered safeties, reshaped and checkered bolt release buttons, reshaped tangs, custom trigger guards (steel) and tuned triggers. Custom contoured bases and Conetrol rings (one-inch, low) are included. STOCKS: Coaxed from adjacent AAA-grade blanks with strong directional and crossing figure, each is dressed with an ebony forend tip, 24 lines-per-inch wrap checkering, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, skeleton grip cap, inletted toe line stud, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad and timed screws. Rifles are unsigned. DIMENSIONS: Weights are 7.4 pounds with mounts. Lengths-of-pull are 13.4 inches. CONDITIONS: Unfired since completion. Bores are strong and bright, with the .30-06 bore showing a small area of trace machining marks. Metal and wood finishes exceed 99 percent.
