Prairie Wings by Edgar Queeny. Published by Ducks Unlimited in 1946, this “de luxe edition” consists of 225 copies “of which 200 are for sale”. The particular edition number is 79/225. Special features of this seminal work are a pigskin binding, gold foil cover accent, signatures of author and illustrator (Richard Bishop) and a bound in etching “They’re Off” by Bishop which serves as a frontispiece. The cloth slip is even contoured to match the curvature of the spine. Condition is excellent, with light wear (rub and small separation) to the spine. The DJ stands as very good, with battlescars from protecting its contents in evidence. This book will stand as the cornerstone of any waterfowl hunter’s library in the world.
