Peerless Winchester 1886 .40-82. Made in 1903 and supported by the included card from the Winchester Museum (signed by Curator T.E. Hall in 1970), serial 125529 as a 26-inch octagon barrel (.735-inch diameter across the muzzle flats, blade front sight, adjustable rear sight, full-length magazine tube). Features include a color case hammer, lever and crescent. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.2 inches. CONDITION: The bore is flawless, approaching pristine. Mechanical operation is crisp to the point of suggesting limited use. All markings are tack sharp. Metal finish is approximately 90 percent. Wood is approximately 85 percent owing to a scattering of modest impressions. Colors are bright at approximately 60 percent. The price is firm and layaway is available. $12,500 plus shipping.
