Consigned by the estate of the original owner, serial W38278 has 26-inch barrels (vent rib with single red bead, fixed IC/M, three-inch chambers, ejectors). Features include an automatic safety and a single select trigger. STOCK: The exceptional walnut blank set became a beavertail forend dressed with borderless checkering, ebony and bold ribbons. The straight grip butt continues the theme and includes an initial shield (blank) and checkering rather than a pad. ENGRAVING: The receiver has full coverage with a gold accents including a pointer and quail (right), setter and drake mallard (left), and a flying turkey (bottom). The surrounding gold-bordered scroll extends over the lever, tangs, guard and forend iron. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.2 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.5 inches, drops are 1.25 and 2.2 inches, and cast off is approximately .25-inch. CONDITION: Bores are strong and bright. Barrels are full on face. Ejectors are strong. Metal and wood finishes are each approximately 97 percent owing to trace indications of being afield. INCLUSIONS: An oak and leather takedown case with maker’s label, snaps, oiler, mahogany two-piece rod, cleaning tips and canvas cover is present and in excellent condition (label is loose at the edges).
