Westley Richards .450/400 3.25-inch double rifle. Serial number T11045 has 26-inch barrels with ejectors, sling hook loop and a quarter rib with one fixed and four folding express leafs (marked 100/200/300/400/500). The boxlock action has sideclips, bushed strikers, double triggers and a mechanical safety. The butt wears a traditional pancake with modest shadow line. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 10.6 pounds. Length-of-pull is 14.5 inches, drops are 1.35 and 1.75 inches, and cast off is approximately .375-inch. CONDITION (As completely refurbished by Westley Richards): Rifling is strong and sharp. Bore exhibits only a modest roughness and remains wonderfully viable. Barrels are tight on face. Ejectors, safety and triggers operate properly. Barrel blue is nearly 100 percent over softened markings. Front sight is loose in its dovetail. Quarter rib matting has softened. Action colors are vivid and nearly 100 percent. Action blue is also nearly 100 percent. Wood appears to be replaced during refurbish – certainly the butt – as the checkering slighty differs from the splinter. That said, both wood integrity and finish are 98 percent. The initial plate on the toe line remains blank. Top lever closes at center. INCLUSIONS: RCBS dies and three rounds of Kynoch 400-grain softs. The price is firm and layaway is available. $18,000 plus shipping.
