Smith & Wesson Performance Center SW1911 .45 ACP cover pistols from the July/August, 2013 issue of American Handgunner Magazine. From the collection of Roy Huntington, SW1911 Custom (5-inch barrel, serial UCT6481) and SW1911 round butt (4.25-inch barrel, serial UCS5724) both feature three lightening cuts on each side of their stainless steel slides, scaled slide serrations, Briley spherical barrel bushings, relieved (finger cut) front straps with 30-lines per inch checkering, ambidextrous thumb safeties and bumped beavertail grip safeties. The Custom has a 5-inch barrel, stainless steel frame, adjustable rear sight and a beveled/extended magazine well. The round butt has a 4.25-inch barrel, serrated flat top slide, drift-adjustable white dot rear sight, scandium frame and serrations over the rear of the slide. Both pistols include their original hard case and papers. CONDITION: Each shows in approximately 98 percent condition from range work during testing. The bore of the 5-inch pistol is leaded and will require a proper cleaning. ROY HUNTINGTON has served as editor of American Handgunner Magazine for almost twenty years.
