David Gentry custom left hand .338 Winchester Magnum. Built on a Gentry-customized action, serial number 74 wears a 22-inch stainless steel fluted McGowan Premium barrel (muzzle diameter .755-inch) with a recessed crown. The action (stainless steel or carbon steel with satin nickel finish) is featured with a full-length Mauser claw extractor, straight bolt handle, checkered bolt knob (four bordered teardrop panels capped with the “DG” logo), three-position Model 70-type safety, sculpted bottom metal with drop box (4-round) magazine and inside-the-bow release, and a custom (unmarked) trigger that breaks as easily as a maiden’s heart. The premium synthetic stock is finished out with gray textured paint and fitted with stainless steel sling swivel studs and a Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. The action rests on twin aluminum pillars as well as glass. MOUNTS: Custom-dimensioned Conetrol bases support unmarked (likely Gentry custom) low one-inch one-piece rings. Metal finish is approximately 98 percent, with traces of handling and a few scattered spots of the faintest tarnish. Stock paint is approximately 97 percent.
