Imported by Lingerie & Detmold in New York, serial 37148 wears 26-inch barrels (marked appropriately as “Chokebore” and “Siemons-Martin”) choked C/IC with matted rib and double ivory beads, ejectors, 2 5/8 inch chambers, side clips and an automatic safety. Both splinter and butt are dressed with fine double-bordered checkering. Grip cap and butt plate appear to be ebony. ENGRAVING: The action, plates, top leveraged guard wear fine scroll to nearly full converage. Forend furniture, screws and safety are similarly dressed, the pattern tapering along the barrel bases. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 6.4 pounds, length-of-pull is 14.75 inches, drops are 1.75 and 2.15 inches, and the stock appears to be absent cast. CONDITION: As partially restored and restocked, the bore is spectacular and barrels fully on face. The front bead may have been replaced or relocated ever-so-slightly. Barrel (satin rust) blue is approximately 90 percent overall, with one area of thinning on the right barrel just forward of the chamber area. Action has silvered to just a trace of colors and hints of tarnish. The guard shows at about 30 percent with general silvering. Some screw slots are roughed. Wood is sharp, at approximately 97 percent. The butt plate has a vertical crack at the lower screw. CASE: An aftermarket Emmebi canvas case with leather corners and felt liner is included and remains in new condition. The price is firm and layaway is available. $3,000 plus shipping.
