Empire Rifles .450 Rigby built on a Granite Mountain magnum Mauser drop box action and otherwise properly featured. Serial number 342ARV has a 23-inch barrel with banded & hooded front sight, banded sling swivel stud and a quarter rib with one standing and one folding leaf. The action itself features a three-position wing safety, straight bolt handle and inside-the-bow release. The stock is fashioned from exhibition grade walnut with fine wrap checkering, double ebony-capped crossbolts, English cheekpiece with shadow line, Howell-type inletted sling swivel stud and a steel grip cap. Weight is 11.2 pounds with scope and LOP is 13.7 inches over Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad (cracked). Metal finish is at least 98 percent, with only slight indications of field use. Wood is about 97 percent from modest field impressions typical of a single safari. The 1.1-4×24 Schmidt & Bender Zenith incorporates an interesting circled/crosshair reticle with heavy posts at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Included are three partial boxes (about 30 rounds total, three different bullets) of Superior ammunition. The price is firm and layaway is available. $8,500 plus shipping. Will sell without scope for $1,000 discount.
