Colt Single Action Army “Calvary” .45 Colt. Made in 1887, serial number 120801 (4x – frame, guard, grip frame, cylinder) has a 7.5-inch barrel and one-piece wood grips. MARKINGS: The inspection mark of David F. Clark (DFC) appears clearly on the barrel, frame and cylinder, and faintly on the base of the grips. “US” is stamped on the left side of the frame. Additional markings include the single line address and three patent dates. The grip cartouche is not visible. CONDITION: The bore shows moderate and general roughness. Rifling remains viable. Chambers have only light and occasional roughness. Cylinder rotates properly and locks up tight. Hammer/trigger operation is sound. Metal finish has browned, with a scattering of dark spots. That said, the metal surface is generally smooth and markings sharp. There is an area of roughness on the ejector rod housing and some minor impressions on the underside of the barrel near the housing. Grips are solid, with a number of scratches/impressions and slight loss at the lower front corners. The price is firm and layaway is available. $12,500 plus shipping.
