Something of Value by Robert Ruark, this copy from the personal library of Ruark’s famed professional hunter Harry Selby. Of course, Selby served as the inspiration for the main character, Peter McKenzie. Published by Doubleday in 1955, this is a stated first edition. Selby’s hand-written signature is present inside. PROVENANCE: A letter from daughter Gail Selby-Wentink attesting that this was indeed her father’s personal copy and that the signature originates from his hand is included. CONDITION: Not that it really matters, for this is akin to holding Heaven in your hand, but the cover is quite loose and some exterior stains are present.
